Classic sail craft such as dhows, longboats, and pirate ships bring wind powered travel with open and close sail mechanics. Leisure boats including pontoons, bowriders, gondolas, and canoes make exploring coastlines and rivers more fun and more scenic. Working vessels such as barges, ferries, narrowboats, tankers, and freighters allow players to build real transport networks and bustling ports.
Supporting all these craft is a brand new fuel and logistics system. Marine Fuel powers engine driven boats and can be refined and stored for long journeys. Cargo Cranes and Fluid Cranes make it possible to load and unload ships in a way that feels alive, and they even interact with TRAINS so goods and liquids can move smoothly between boats and railways.
Underwater travel also becomes a fully featured experience. The seaglider offers fast underwater motion, the submarine brings safe deep exploration with clear visibility, and the submarine miner introduces underwater drilling for resource gathering beneath the waves.
